Kristyn Lee
My name is Kristyn (she/her) and I am one of the co-presidents of the Interprofessional Healthcare Students' Association for the 2021-2022 school year. I am in my final year of the Master's in Occupational Therapy program. As co-president, I aim to create an inclusive and collaborative environment for the team of interprofessional student leaders, and to work closely with the team to strengthen the relationships between the 13 different healthcare programs. I am very excited for all the academic, outreach, and social events planned for the year!
Mohamed El-Rayani
Hey there!, My name is Mohamed (he/him) and I'm one of the Co-Presidents this year. I just started my second year in Medical Radiation Sciences, I'm in the Radiation Therapy stream! Before joining IPHSA, I was studying at the University of Waterloo where I was involved with the Science Society there! I'm glad to meet you all and looking forward to a great year :)

My name is Stephanie (she/her) and I am a second year Master of Social Work student, specializing in health and mental health. I am passionate about interprofessional models of patient care and believe strongly in IPHSA’s mission to promote teamwork and collaboration among the different healthcare disciplines. As Vice President Internal, I hope to contribute to advancements in interprofessional initiatives by supporting and maintaining effective communication among fellow IPHSA members, IPE faculty representatives, and the greater community of healthcare students.

My name is Brennan (he/him) and I'm a first year Master of Social Work student. Since I'm just entering my program, I'm really excited to explore interprofessional healthcare broadly, and to learn more about the role of social workers in healthcare. As VP External, my job is to share all of the awesome IPHSA-related events and information with you - on our social media and on this website! I hope to also increase awareness around the different health disciplines that make up the association.

My name is Jason and I am a third-year pharmacy student. I joined the IPHSA team to continue to interact with a variety of students from different healthcare faculties and foster a sense of collaboration before we all start working in the 'real world'. I hope to maintain the club's financial budget so that we may continue to have inter-professional events throughout the year.

My name is Hannah (she/her) and I am a second year occupational therapy student. I had the opportunity to be apart of the IPHSA Education Subcommittee in my first year (2020-2021) helping to facilitate various IPE events. My goal as VP Education this year is to foster a welcoming environment between different healthcare professions through important discussions such as LGBTQ+, Alzheimer's care, and more!

As a nursing student in the final year of my degree, I've seen first-hand the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in the healthcare setting. As co-chair of the education committee, I aim to create and organize exciting events open to students from the University of Toronto’s many healthcare faculties in the hopes of fostering inter-professional collaboration.

Meliha Horzum
My name is Meliha (she/her) and I am a first year Speech-Language Pathology student. I'm excited to be co-leading the Health Policy subcommittee, where our goal is to advocate for change among the various healthcare professions through exciting events and policy papers. This year, we hope to continue our Healthcare Provider Burnout IPE event series, with an emphasis on burnout as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. My co-vice president Sofia and I will work hard to ensure our subcommittee members are prepared to advocate for effective policy changes and development in their future places of work.

This subcommittee engages in topics that drive change on healthcare-related issues through advocacy events and publications.

Hey everyone! My name is Kelsie (she/her), I am in my second year of the Master of Social Work program and am the Co-Chair of the Outreach Subcommittee. As a social worker, I value mentorship and recognize the important role it has in our lives. The Outreach Subcommittee focuses on mentorship through hosting a series of events that allow undergraduate and high school students interested in a career in health care to learn from current healthcare students. This subcommittee provides an opportunity to share your abundance of wisdom, journey to the profession and network with other healthcare students.

My name is Amentha (she/her), and I am a third year pharmacy student at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. As one of the social VPs, I look forward to learning more about the roles of other healthcare professionals and their values, and raise more awareness about interprofessional collaboration. In order to achieve this, I plan on working with IPHSA to create a safe environment for students of all health care disciplines to network and build strong connections.

Hi there! My name is Diana Jugowiec, and I am in my second year of Occupational Therapy. As a VP Social, our goal is to create events and opportunities for healthcare students to network, connect, and build relationships. Getting to know our healthcare counterparts is important in understanding the different roles, scopes of practice, and learning how to work together in the future. Our aspiration is to promote inter-professional collaboration between healthcare teams in a fun, engaging way!

Ellie Pezzutto
My name is Ellie, and I am a 2nd year occupational therapy student with a passion for advocacy and teamwork in healthcare. I have attended and facilitated numerous IPE activities where I gained an immense appreciation for interprofessional teamwork and its importance in ensuring the best possible care for patients/clients and their family/caregivers. I will be combining my passions for IPE and advocacy through my role as the Interfaculty Curriculum Committee (IFCC) Liaison. In this role, I will aim to bridge the gap between students and faculty on the IFCC. I will be providing a student voice to the IFCC and will be sharing relevant information discussed in IFCC meetings to IPHSA. Hi! My name is Victoria (she/her) & I am a 3rd year pharmacy student. I am one of the IFCC liaisons this school year alongside Ellie. I joined IPHSA as I am very passionate about inter professional collaboration and wanted to be part of a club that promotes this. I have been part of IPHSA for the last 3 years starting off as a member of the Outreach committee then I was one of the Health Policy Chairs last year & now an IFCC liaison. The role of the IFCC liaisons is to act as the connection between the students & the faculty to make sure the student voice is heard.
