Co-Presidents
Meagan Hatch
Meagan is one of the Co-Presidents of the Interprofessional Healthcare Students' Association (IPHSA) for the 2019-20 school year. She is passionate about interprofessionalism in healthcare and is committed to promoting communication and collaboration amongst the 13 different healthcare professional programs in Toronto represented by IPHSA. She is currently in her third year of pharmacy and has seen the value of healthcare professionals working together in academia and clinical practice. Through her role she aims to strengthen and support relationships amongst different healthcare professional students via academic and social events throughout the year.

Gill Kazevman
Gill is the Co-VP of the Interprofessional Healthcare Students’ Association (IPHSA) Health policy committee for the 2018-2019 school year. Following his completion of a Health sciences degree and a Nuclear Medicine certification in New Brunswick, Gill worked in the private health care industry for several years. These experiences allowed him to learn about the roles and responsibilities of the different health care professions within and outside of the hospital setting, which motivated him to advocate for collaboration and education within the health care system. His goals for the Health Policy committee for this year are to improve collaboration within the health care student body and advocate to improve practitioners health status. When he is not busy with school, Gill enjoys hiking and the outdoors.

Yass Salehi
Yass is currently in her second year of Occupational Therapy. As this year's VP Internal, Yass is aiming to maintain communication between the IPHSA executive council and each faculty's IPE representatives. She is a true believer that great patient centered care begins with effective collaboration amongst the various health care disciplines, and values the unique lens each profession brings to the table. When she's not busy with school, Yass loves to travel, knit and play volleyball!

Imama Adnan
Imama is in her second year of the Medical Radiation Sciences program. Her goal is to expand the communication platforms in which IPHSA can connect with students in order to create more awareness for IPHSA events as well as each of the scope of practices of each of the different health professional programs IPHSA encompasses. In her spare time Imama enjoys photography and exploring different coffee shops in the city!

Dhruv is the Vice President of Finance for the 2020-2021 school year, and he is completing his second year of Pharmacy. He has seen the impact that interprofessional collaboration is capable of and is looking forward to working with other future healthcare professionals to foster this in a positive environment.

Josh is in his 4th year of the chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). He has previously been the president of CMCC’s IPE council and has been involved in research through St. Michaels Department of Family and Community Medicine. Josh is looking forward to his role as co-VP of Education to help further inter-professional education and continue to learn about each healthcare discipline. Josh’s goal for this upcoming year is to provide educational events that will be informative and help foster inter-professional relationships.

Katelyn is currently in her second year of MRS - Radiation Therapy. As this years Co-VP of the Outreach Committee her goal is to build new and lasting relationships with students outside of U of T for committee events. Together with the committee members she hopes to target a wider range of students and help them explore their different career options within the healthcare industry.

As Co-VP Outreach, he hopes to continue to foster relationships within the community, where current students are able to learn about the various career options within healthcare and interdisciplinary approaches to patient care. This year, the Outreach Committee hopes to increase accessibility to our career panels and workshops while facilitating long-term mentoring relationships by increasing collaboration with various local organizations and programs.

Ushma is currently completing her MD degree (2nd year) while simultaneously doing an MSc degree at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation. Ushma’s extensive background in global health and humanitarian work is one that she aims to bring with her to her role as the Vice President of Health Policy for the 2019-20 year. As one of the Co-Chairs of the IPHSA Health Policy Committee, she wants to equip all of the committee members with the skills and knowledge required for effective policy development and implementation. She is looking forward to working with the team to apply an interdisciplinary lens to the creation of position papers and policy statements this year.

Alexandra Domingues
Alex is currently in her third year of Pharmacy. As IFCC Liaison, she is aiming to maintain open communication between the students and the faculty members behind UofT’s IPE Curriculum. She believes that interprofessional collaboration is an essential aspect of patient centred care and there’s no better way to address gaps in care then through fostering collaboration between all. She looks forward to formative conversations with faculty leads in order to produce a curriculum that benefits the students and all our future patients/clients. Alex always enjoys a good book, good travel and a good cup of coffee.
