Mission
IPHSA is a non-profit interdisciplinary healthcare professional student group committed to:
- Advocating interprofessional awareness among disciplines dedicated to health and social services
- Facilitating collaboration and communication among healthcare students and the healthcare community
- Coordinating communication between all healthcare disciplines represented by IPHSA
- Ensuring equal representation of all healthcare disciplines
Who We Are
IPHSA is comprised of an elected number of students, with student representation from all 12 healthcare faculties at the University of Toronto, plus the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Executive members envision, spearhead and coordinate initiatives that integrate interprofessionalism into the healthcare student experience. IPHSA Outreach, Health Policy, Education and Social committee members work alongside executive members to plan these initiatives throughout the school year. At monthly meetings, IPHSA faculty representatives provide updates on relevant interprofessional events initiated within their faculty and disseminate this information to their classmates afterwards.

Get Involved
All students enrolled in the healthcare disciplines represented by IPHSA (Dentistry, Kinesiology & Physical Education, Medical Radiation Science, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physician Assistants, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Speech Language Pathology, Pastoral Studies, Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine) are automatically IPHSA members!
All IPHSA members are eligible to run for an IPHSA position which is held by their respective faculty's student council. Check with your student council to find out when elections take place and how to run. If you would like to take on an active role with IPHSA and/or would not like to run through your student council, please consider applying to one of our committees. See the 'Committees' page for more details.
The IPHSA committees works hard to ensure that your interprofessional experience is at its best. We strive to develop fun, engaging, and collaborative for-credit IPE courses, as well as exciting non-curricular events and workshops. These are excellent opportunities to foster relationships with your fellow students from the other healthcare disciplines.
We hope to see you at our next event!
