Co-Presidents
Wentao Li
My name is Wentao and I am one of two co-presidents this year. I am in my second year of the occupational therapy program. As co-president, I hope to maintain a cohesive, collaborative atmosphere on the team. While this has been a unique year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to engage as many students as possible through the wonderful work we do. I have personally learned a lot from my fellow colleagues in other professions and I want everyone to have the same chance to do so.
VP INTERNAL
Tracey Ragnanan
My name is Tracey and I am a second year Master of Social Work student. As Vice President Internal, I hope to maintain effective communication and transparency between the IPHSA executive council, IPE faculty representatives, and all health professional students. I believe interprofessional collaboration is essential in providing optimal patient care. Each profession brings a unique lens and skillset to the interprofessional team. Joining IPHSA is a great way to connect and learn about various health professionals.
VP EXTERNAL
Sabrina Campbell
My name is Sabrina and I am a second year medical student. As VP External, I aim to create a cohesive theme for our promotional material across our social media channels, streamline the promotion process and keep our website up to date. IPHSA is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about other healthcare providers and develop teamwork and leadership skills and so I highly recommend participating in it's wonderful community through events, educative electives and committees!
VP Finance
Dhruv Datta
Dhruv is the Vice President of Finance for the 2020-2021 school year, and he is completing his third year of Pharmacy. He has seen the impact that interprofessional collaboration is capable of and is looking forward to working with other future healthcare professionals to foster this in a positive environment.
VPs Education
Bonnie Chan
The Education Committee allows you to collaborate and generate academic events with several students from other healthcare disciplines. The events that are led by the committee are recognized and approved for IPE credits.
Autumn Chen
Join us if you're interested in event planning, developing content for academic seminars, and working with a group of interprofessional students! Our goal for this upcoming year is to provide educational events that will be informative and help foster inter-professional relationships.
VPs Health Policy
Victoria Ezekwemba
The Health Policy subcommittee engages in topics that are pertinent to both healthcare providers and patients from the lens of policy and advocacy. We encourage fellow healthcare students to get involved if they want to: 1) Learn more about policy, advocacy, and how an inter-professional perspective can add value to healthcare and 2) Contribute to creating meaningful chance in UofT's inter-professional health community by creating IPE electives and position papers.
Ashmita Singh
Ashmita is a second year medical student who loves filling her free time with food, art, nature, friends and family. She is excited to co-lead the health policy subcommittee in the upcoming year. This subcommittee engages in topics that are pertinent to both, healthcare providers, and healthcare service recipients, from the lens of policy and advocacy. Ashmita urges her colleagues to get involved if they want to learn more about policy, advocacy, and how an inter-professional perspective can add value to healthcare
VPs OUTREACH
Katrina Fackelmann
Hi my fellow healthcare students! Katrina and Elaine here! IPHSA’s Outreach Sub-committee hosts workshops/networking events for undergraduate students and/or high school students throughout the year to promote a better understanding of the various roles in a healthcare team, helping students to explore their career interests. We aim to connect healthcare professional students with prospective students interested in a career in healthcare for mentorship opportunities.
Elaine Shang
In this process, you get to represent your healthcare profession, practice your public speaking skills, and network with many other like-minded students in the other professional programs at the University of Toronto. If working on an interdisciplinary team and promoting healthcare awareness in the community sounds like something you are interested in, apply to IPHSA! We look forward to working with you!
VPs Social
Gwyneth Dias
The IPHSA Social Committee provides opportunities for healthcare students to network and build connections via student socials throughout the school year. This is a great way for students from different faculties to socialize and interact with each other in a fun way, outside of our professional responsibilities.
Danielle Lewis
Our social committee plans and organizes events throughout the year catered to healthcare students of all years. If you are passionate about fostering inter-professional collaboration and would like to work with students from different healthcare professionals to plan socials, now is your chance to join us!
IFCC Representatives
David Czosniak
As the IFCC liaison, my role is to act as an intermediary between the students and IPHSA with the faculty coordinators of the IPE program. I really enjoy this position as it provides me with different perspectives than the typical student one, while also being able to advocate on behalf of the students to those that plan our IPE curriculum!
Gobika Sithamparanathan
My name is Gobika and I am a second year occupational therapy student. I appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with current/future healthcare professionals through Interprofessional Education (IPE) at UofT. I have attended and facilitated IPE activities, and was an active member of 3 IPHSA subcommittees (the Health Policy, Education and Outreach Committees) in the past academic year (2019-2020). Through these roles, I upheld the mission of IPHSA and the Centre for IPE through projects such as outreach events, creating and facilitating an IPE elective and position paper on provider mental wellbeing. I hope to continue contributing by serving as a student representative on the Inter-Faculty Curriculum Committee to enrich the learning experience of students.
