Kaitlin Siou
Kaitlin is the Co-President of the Interprofessional Healthcare Students’ Association (IPHSA) for the 2017-2018 school year. Having completed an engineering degree prior to medical school, Kaitlin sees the value in collaborating with different professionals to come up with creative solutions in an increasingly complex healthcare system. Her goals for IPHSA this year are to strengthen existing collaborative networks, bring various professions together to discuss their role in timely healthcare issues, and boost the overall collegiality within IPHSA.

Selina Pang
Selina is a 2nd year pharmacy student and is the VP internal for 2017-2018. She advocates for interprofessionalism as an important part of every healthcare professional’s daily practice, and wants to place more emphasis on interprofessionalism in our current curriculum. As an IPHSA executive this year, she hopes to raise awareness of IPHSA as an organization, and to encourage healthcare students to reach out to those of differing healthcare professions. She believes with all the different professions working together, we can improve patient care and achieve more than what we can achieve alone.

Selina is a 2nd year pharmacy student and is the VP internal for 2017-2018. She advocates for interprofessionalism as an important part of every healthcare professional’s daily practice, and wants to place more emphasis on interprofessionalism in our current curriculum. Brigida Bruno
- Brigida is in her 2nd year of medicine and is looking forward to acting as a VP education. She is excited to facilitate the development of engaging and interactive IPE electives that emphasize collaboration and communication in inter-professional teams. She hopes this will give students the opportunity to learn more about each other's scope of practice, to ultimately apply these skills in a clinical setting.

Gea Panic
Gea is currently in her 3rd year of pharmacy. As the VP Outreach, she hopes to connect with and help as many future healthcare students as possible. Younger students often have trouble obtaining information and getting to know current healthcare students, so the Outreach Committee is meant to close that gap. This year, she hopes to put on a variety of different events and provide the opportunity for students to establish long-term relationships with our members. This will allow them to continue to contact us with any questions, and act as a sort of mentorship program in the long term. She believes that we can make a positive impact, and she cannot wait to see how it goes!

Ivy is currently in her second year of Nursing and is one of the VP socials for 2017-2018. She believes interprofessionalism is fundamental to optimal patient care because patient care is holistic in nature and necessitates teamwork-based development of comprehensive health and social solutions to patient-family concerns and needs. She believes IPHSA is an awesome starting foundation to work towards achieving these interprofessional goals before healthcare professional students enter the workforce! She plans to organize socials that provide a welcoming and supportive space where different faculty students can casually meet, connect, and learn about each other’s professions, hobbies and passions in a fun environment! In her spare time she loves playing basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, swimming and eating mac and cheese!

Victoria Deluca
Victoria is excited to be one of the VP socials for this year! She is a 2nd year nursing student. Victoria came into healthcare to help others and she believes that patients deserve the best care that can be provided. She strongly believes that interprofessional collaboration leads to better patient outcomes! Victoria got involved with IPHSA because she believes that learning from one another is one of the best ways to learn! She hopes that through the events planned this year, students are able to learn from one another in a fun, relaxing, and engaging environment.

Tina is 2nd year nursing student. As a IFCC Liaison Tina hopes to represent the student voice at the Interfaculty Curriculum Committee (IFCC) meetings to ensure the faculties are aware of the student concerns and their goals. She wants to ensure that students are able to meet their interprofessional education learning goals. Tina believes that interprofessional collaboration is at the crux of effective health care and serves as the key to provide comprehensive patient and family centered care.
